This DVD features University of Hawaii Assistant Coach Scott Fisher in a visit to Australia in July 2011.
Fisher is no stranger to Australia, having had a very distinguished NBL playing career. He led the North Melbourne Giants to the 1989 NBL Championship and collected the NBL MVP and Finals MVP along the way. He also helped lead the Perth Wildcats to NBL titles in 1995 and 2000 and was named to the 1996 Australian Olympic team.
After retiring from playing, Fisher made the move to coaching, taking the reins of the Perth Wildcats between 2004 – 2008. He led them to the NBL finals in 4 consecutive seasons.
After returning to the USA, Fisher was added to the University of Hawaii staff. In 2010-11, the University of Hawaii boasted the 8th best defensive field goal percentage in the nation out of 346 Division 1 colleges, restricting their opponents to 38.9% from the floor. The team also improved from 10 wins in 2010 to 19 wins in 2011.
Fisher breaks down some of the methods and drills the University of Hawaii employ to attain their winning defence. This is a good resource for junior representative coaches and higher.
